| Good Ol’ Fun in the Fields: · St. Patty’s Day Parade – they take their heritage seriously · Visited John Wayne’s Birthplace – aka The Duke · Saw the Covered Bridges of Madison County (where they filmed the movie) · Caught my first catfish! · Survived our first tornado – o This twister touched down about 20 miles away, it was on the ground a total of 30 seconds took out a whole town… Who says nothing happens here…Des Moines is Not Boring | ||||||||||||||||||||

| · This weekend: EARTH DAY BONANZA o Earth Day Parade at the local college o Film Festival and Fair at the Science Center o Architectural Competition: Building structures out of canned food o Local artist carving the local mascot out of a log o A new company in Des Moines is now creating green drywall from recycled plastic cartons · In the future: o 2012 Mud Run – obstacle course o Attend the largest corn-eating contest o Skillet-Throwing Championships | ||||||||||||||||||||
